Créé en 2000, le GAP est une association loi 1901 qui agit en faveur de l’enfance, de la jeunesse et de la famille. Structuré en quatre établissements sur les territoires de la métropole Lilloise, de Roubaix/Tourcoing, des Flandres intérieures, du Douaisis, du Cambrésis, du Valenciennois et de l’Arrageois, le GAP accueille et accompagne plus de 1200 enfants de 0 à 21 ans chaque année sur 59 services via 3 champs d’intervention (Protection de l’Enfance, Protection Judiciaire de la Jeunesse, Prévention spécialisée) et types d’accompagnements diversifiés (Internat, évaluation, Assistants familiaux, semi autonomie, accueil de jour...).
