Mission description

Grandir Dignement specializes in supporting children and young adults in the justice system while guaranteeing human dignity in custody. Provide coaching-style peer support to youth facing justice issues, set up educational activities, occasionally co-lead prison interventions, welcome new young people, and support youth with their administrative procedures.

GRANDIR DIGNEMENT

Grandir Dignement est une ONG française créée en 2010 qui intervient auprès des enfants en conflit avec la loi. Elle œuvre simultanément en France, à Madagascar et au Niger. Dans ces trois pays d’intervention, à travers des contextes très différents, Grandir Dignement cherche à garantir le respect de la dignité humaine en milieu carcéral et plus généralement durant tout le processus judiciaire. Sa stratégie poursuit trois objectifs complémentaires :-(1) protéger les enfants détenus et les accompagner dans leur réinsertion ; -(2) promouvoir les alternatives à la détention et les dispositifs post-carcéraux ; -(3) appuyer les institutions et mener un plaidoyer en faveur d'une amélioration du traitement et de la perception des enfants en conflit avec a loi. Grandir Dignement considère que chaque enfant, quel que soit son passé, doit être traité dans le respect de sa dignité humaine et doit pouvoir devenir acteur de sa vie et de la société. Adhérente au réseau Don Bosco Action Sociale, Grandir Dignement s'inspire de la pédagogie salésienne de Jean Bosco. L'association accomplit toutes ses actions dans la sobriété et la simplicité.
